Week 2


Lastly, we used an NFC reader to read the NFC chips in our phones.

The first picture shows the NFC reader. Whenever we tapped an NFC chip on the reader, the Pi registered it and displayed its tag uid, as shown in the second picture.


This is useful for a multitude of things, such as social networking, for sharing contacts, photos, videos or files. (Wikipedia, 2019)


A relatively recent example would be Apple Pay, where you can link your credit card to your phone, and via Apple Pay, tap your phone instead of your credit card on the NFC reader to pay.
