Finally, we have come to the end of sprint 4! This being the final sprint for this project, the team was eager to finish well, and so we did!

Sprint 4

For this sprint we really needed to step on it in order to make the deadline. With our morales high and other modules' assignments out of the way, we furiously hacked away and ended up making drastic progress.

During this sprint, I didn't work on the front-end on my own — I actually got help from Kenneth and Cammy to implement parts of the register page such as the user-type section, the food-hygiene-cert-upload section, as well as the volunteer-details section. With them working on the HTML and CSS, I could focus more on the Javascript and JQuery for the Register page.

User Type — Indicate if you are signing up as a donor, store-owner or volunteer. If donor is selected and confirm button is clicked, new donor is registered. If store-owner or volunteer is selected, the respective follow up pages will be shown.

Food Hygiene Cert Upload — Upload softcopy of food hygiene cert so that we can verify that the user is a legitimate store-owner.

Volunteer Details — Enter volunteering information so that we can verify if the user is indeed a volunteer under the organisation that they claim to be from.

Other than the register page, I also worked closely with Caelan and Cammy to redesign the homepage. I think it looks really good but you can be the judge :)

It took quite some time but I am really happy about the result so it was definitely worth it!

Thoughts

As with sprint 2, our productivity went through the roof once we had more time to work on the project. I must say that sprint 2 and sprint 4 have been the most enjoyable sprints, as the team was able to work well together and create a website from scratch! We could play off of each others strengths and weaknesses, helping each other out with things that we weren't so familiar with.

It has been a great learning experience for me, and my only regret is not being able to fully experience the Agile developmnet process. But after getting just a glimpse of what it is like, I can clearly see the strengths of such a development methodology.

By the way, if you're interested in checking out the website for yourself, here is the link to it: http://projectui.cngc4e.cbu.net/site/

Special thanks to Caelan, Kenneth, Cammy and Jia Wen for being such great people to work with!

Thank you for reading! :)
